9 month family pics at the park

I had a friend at work take our family pics.  

She is a nurse/amateur photography.  SCORE!   

She had spotted this perfect place and got some great shots.

We couldn't be more happy with how they turned out.

As I look at these pictures that capture

this time in our lives I realize that... Now...These...

are the good old days.

9 months:

Wt: 17 lb 13 oz ( 18%)

Ht: 28 in (33%)

The County Fair

We headed on down to the county fair and 

took in all the 4-H happenings.

The highlight being the livestock exhibits...

                                                 

Then we stopped for a treat before heading back home.

There is just something about the fair that makes

your heart feel at home.  

Why do they grow so fast?

My baby is now 9 months old!

When did that happen?

Lets recap...

7 months

8 months

9 months!

He is looking less and less like a baby 

and more and more

like a little boy!

He will have his check up next week so I 

will know his measurements then.  

( He claps his hands when he finishes all his food!  So cute! )

He is eating 3 meals a day with a snack 

in the afternoon and usually a slice of

butter bread after supper.  He is still

drinking 24 oz of formula in a day and 

yet I can't seem to make this baby "pudgy".  

He wears off all his energy playing on the floor.

Pulling to Stand

At just 8 1/2 months old Tristan figured out something new he can do...

Pulling himself up to stand.

It started by kneeling onto this sweet toy.

Then using his elbows to pull until he got a leg up to reach the fun toys on top.

Standing!!!

Then testing the ropes and stretching a little further...

The first day he did this he didn't know how to get back down to the floor 

and he had a couple tumbles.  Then, the next day he figured out how to bend a knee 

and turn himself into a sitting position.

He is growing way too fast.  What will he figure out he can do tomorrow...

Fun in the Sun

We went to Grandma Sally's for lunch and then to the public pool by her house.  

This was Tristan's first time in a big pool.

What a cool dude!

He loved watching all the big kids play and didn't even mind if they splashed him.

Best part... it's free for kids age 2 and under and "spectator" adults

We are definitely going to make this a summer routine.

Another fun day at the zoo

We went to another zoo today that was a little closer to home and 

joined Grandma and Grandpa K along with our favorite little cousins 

and aunt and uncle.

I think the pictures speak for themselves...

It was another fun day with people we love most.

A New Skill

Tristan has not yet concurred crawling in the traditional sense but he

has for a while been...

army crawling (sometimes just using one arm to pull himself around as he carries something),

doing the downward dog (on his hands and toes with butt in the air), 

and rocking on hands and knees.

There is no where on the floor that he can't get to anymore...

(I even lost him between the couch and the end table one day)

His new skill is "crawling" through the coffee table.

He may never "crawl".  He may just be one of

these babies that skips crawling and starts pulling himself up to stand.

Time will tell...

But one thing is for sure.  He is on the move.
