First Easter (a little early)

Today we celebrated Easter with Luke's mom's side of the family
as we usually do on Palm Sunday.

It was a little travel time in the car but
with each trip it gets a little easier.

Of course he got spoiled with fun Easter treats and summer outfits.

We enjoyed good food, good conversation and
being with family.

We received this yellow crocheted blanket from Luke's aunt that was made
by Luke's grandpa's mom -wow! (so it is from Tristan's great-great grandma)
how many kids can say that?!

Can't believe my baby is 5 months old now!

Our Little Leprechaun

Happy St. Patty's Day!!

We called him our little leprechaun all day and I swear by
nightfall his hair looked a little redder.

I am 1/32 Irish from my mom's side
and Luke has no Irish blood in him but that doesn't mean
we are any less Irish than any O'Riley down the street
on St. Patricks Day does it?!?  haha

We spent our weekend watching Irish themed movies that I got from the library including:

Tristan and Isolde: about an Irish princess in the renaissance era
Leap Year: about the Irish tradition of a woman proposing to a man on leap year
Circle of Friends:  an old movie starring Minnie Driver and Chris O'Donnell

(Our dream is to visit Ireland but for now seeing the vast green country side on the big screen will have to do)

For supper I made drunken chicken thighs (soaked in guiness) with carrots, leeks and potatoes.
I put it in the crockpot so it smelled good all day.

And for dessert we had these shamrock shakes...

We are going to have to pretend to be Irish more often around here.

What a Sports Nut huh?

Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma K,  Tristan got the
hook up with some cool Minnesota apparel.

Go Twins!!
We can't wait for spring baseball season around here.

...and lets not forget about supporting our college team
Go Gophers!!

Who does this look like in his Maroon Gophers shirt rocking in his easy chair?
haha,  just like Grandpa

(Not sure what is so interesting about his hand in this picture
but it makes me smile.)

(What can he say, he is proud of his tummy. haha)

Yum Yums

Tristan's First Food

4 months old today and we thought we would try some rice cereal.

Our pediatrician recommended giving it a try now but if he doesn't know
what to do with a spoon then put it away for a couple of weeks and try again.
But Tristan said, "Do or do not, there is no try!"

He was eager and leaning in to the spoon once he got started.

Honestly, I was expecting a way bigger mess but he did a good job.

Highlights

In just a couple of days, Tristan will be 4 months old.
Here are some of our highlights of my still 3 month old...

Officially rolling from tummy to back

and then back to tummy,

Kissy lips,

Wearing a tie shirt on President's Day,

Giggling at funny doctor suess shirts (and stories),

And finally starting to love tummy time and holding
his head up like a big boy.

Today was his 4 month well baby check and here are his stats...

weight: 13 lb 6 oz
length:  24 in

Snow Day

Snow Day

Yes, I am very ready for spring to come, however, I never complain about a snow day.
It is so nice to not have anywhere to go or anything to do but snuggle up and have family time.

Today Tristan channeled in circa 1985 and wore this number that was Luke's as a baby.

What a goof!

Then we got out the jumparoo (thanks to Auntie Leah) and got a little exercise.
The only thing missing was the sweat band.  haha.

His feet barely touch but he loved it.

The other thing I love about snow days is comfort food.
Thanks to pinterest, I made these recipes...
Tortellini, spinach, and chicken soup with copycat Red Lobster biscuits.

Yum!  What a delicious day!
